Number of seats increasing in NUST?

By With No comments:
Number of seats increasing in NUST?

A news is circulating on Entry Test related paged and groups about increment in number of seats NUST is offering for Engineering & Business Studies.

This is not a confirm or official news. On asking the people who posted this news that how they came to know about it, the answer is the other page or group shared it, so we shared it too. Everyone gives such reason and there seem to be no source of this news at all. Probably made up some such page by its own.

Advice to the students: Do not trust in any such news, unless its source is stated along with. And if source is stated try to confirm the news on your own. Your future might be at stake because of it.  And do keep a second option. If you believe in this news, and suppose the seats do not increase and you didn't apply in any other institute, you will fail to get admission this year. Who will be responsible for this loss now? Those pages and groups wont be there to accept the fault neither will they get you admission. Almighty Allah blessed us with minds, try to use it before believing, sharing such kinds of news.

Advice to such pages/groups: Helping others is an excellent job, provided you are really working to help. But a sad reality is that people want to be on number one, they want to the first in everything. In this case they want to be the first one to provide Entry Test related info to students as it will bring back new likes/fans to their groups/pages/profiles. I realized it after discussion with some of the admins. So a humble request, stop playing with the future of students.

Note: I have sent emails and texts to NUST ug office and some teachers, asking about the same issue. As soon as I get some reply from them, its screen shot will be shared on our Facebook page. You can contact  NUST ug office on your own and try to get the information.

And yes do remember:

Frequently asked questions about NUST

By With 57 comments:
This post will answer the general questions about NUST, NET, merits and such issues.

Q1) When the result of Paper Based Test and Architecture will be announced?
Answer: The last paper based test in Karachi & Quetta was held on July 5th, a few students in Islamabad were made to appear in written test instead of computer based test because of some visionary issues and last test of Architecture in Islamabad was conducted on July 8th. All these results will be out on the same day probably. According to NUST, result of architecture is prepared in about two weeks. So these results are expected to be announced between 20 to 25th July.

Q2) When the merit lists will be announced?
Answer: After the announcement of all the results, NUST will announce the merit positions for Engineering, Business Studies and Architecture based on their marks of matric, FSc Part 1 and NET. When the merit positions are announced, students would have an option to change their preferences as well. A few days will be provided to make the change in preferences and after this deadline the first merit list will be uploaded. Merit positions will be out in last week of July and merit list is expected to be out in first week of August.
For medical the merit positions will be out in September, when the result of Fsc Part 2 is announced.

Q3) How can we change our preferences?
Answer: When NUST announces the merit positions, you will give a couple of days to change you preferences. Before that no change in the form can be made.

Q4) What were the closing merits of last year/How much percentage we need to secure admission?
Answer: The expected closing merits of NUST are listed below:
  • MBBS: Last year merit closed at about 84.9%. So 85%+ should be considered safe. For PCs, the merit is about 2-3% less than open merit.
  • BDS: 83.5% + is fine enough for BDS. However the students having 83% also have a chance.
  • Bio-Sciences: Students with 75%+ will be able to get in.
  • Business Studies: Last year merit of Business Studies closed near 58%, so the merit above 58% is safe for getting admission. However For Economics you need about 60% and for BBA and Bs Accounting and Finance 63% + .
  • Engineering: Merit above 65%+ would get you admission in Engineering. The table below will help you in knowing where you stand. These will be the merits in the very last list. In the first list merits would be higher. But many students will leave the seats for other universities like GIKI, PIEAS, UET etc, so merit will fall in second and the next lists. In 2014 There were 8 merit lists.

Field   Approximate Minimum aggregate for admission
    Mechanical Engineering (Islamabad)
    75.5%
    Mechanical Engineering (Rawalpindi)
    74.5%
    Electrical Engineering (Islamabad)
    Electrical Engineering (Rawalpindi)
    73.5%
    Aerospace Engineering (Risalpur)
    72%
    Civil Engineering (Islamabad)
    71%
    Chemical Engineering (Islamabad)
    Mechatronics Engineering (Rawalpindi)
    Avionics Engineering (Risalpur)
    70.5%
    Software Engineering (Islamabad)
    Mechanical Engineering (Karachi)
    69%
    Civil Engineering (Risalpur)
    Computer Software Engineering (Rawalpindi)
    67.5%
    Electrical (Telecom) Engineering (Rawalpindi)
    67%
    Mechanical Engineering (Winter Session) (Karachi)
    Material Engineering (Islamabad)
    Computer Engineering (Rawalpindi)
    66.5%
    Electrical Engineering (Karachi)
    Computer Science (Islamabad)
    Environmental Engineering (Islamabad)
    65%
    Geo Informatics Engineering (Islamabad)
    Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering (Karachi)

For Paying cadets, merit is much lower. Students near 110 can also get admission on PC seat. A fellow girl with 112 marks in NET is in EME Electrical on PC seat.
  • Architecture: In architecture students are not able to score much higher marks. The highest marks are usually in 120s or 130s. So a result merit of SADA is lower. If you score above 90 in NET for SADA, you have a chance.
  • Note: These are neither official nor exact figures. Just an approximate, merit less than the above mentioned percentages might also get you in if the merit falls. So do not lose hope.
Q5) How many seats are available in NUST?
Answer: The distribution of seats in NUST, for all the fields, is available on the following link: Distribution of seats in  NUST

As soon as we can any confirm update about result or merit lists we will announce it on our Facebook Page. Feel free to ask in case of any issue.

Guide To NET Preparation

By With 122 comments:
Hey Everyone!
I’m Maham Fazal _ the third Merit Position Holder in NUST MBBS 2014. I also stood Third in HSSC Federal Board 2014. Plus I got First Merit Position in RMC.

So, with that little intro let’s move on to certain tips that I would like to share with you all regarding the upcoming NET Series particularly for MBBS/BDS that will Insha Allah  help you put up enough score on the board.

1. Organize Yourself:
Be sure to keep all your handy books neatly stacked and within your reach. This will help save time.

2. Schedule It All:
As clichéd as it may sound, but a well thought out study plan works wonders. Sketch out a convenient schedule for yourself. This is a must to do if you want to boost your studying hours capacity. I personally practise this habit.

3. Highlight:
Once you begin to study, just go through all the text in your books and highlight what you think seems important. Cut down on long paragraphs and derivations etc by highlighting just the critical points. This is going to be especially time saving for you in the NET-2 and 3.

4. Study Routine:
Tackle only one subject at a time and stick to till it completes, no matter how long. Don’t go about fiddling with every subject. This will just create a mess in your mind.

5. Practice, Practice and Practice:
When they say “Practice makes a man perfect” there’s no doubt about it. Practise MCQs as much as you can and whenever and wherever you can. This will help you perceive the question real fast. Also you will improve the speed and accuracy of your calculations.

6. The Subjects:

What to study?

Well, the answer’s simple. Those six towering hefty textbooks that sucked out your soul for nearly two years are here to stay. Yes, that’s right. No need of any extra book. No keys. No guidebooks. Nothing.  Just you and your books.  And any side notes from some tuition centre you attended.

How to study?

Follow these steps if you’re confused:

  •  Read a topic very carefully. Split it if it’s long.
  •  Revise that particular topic in your mind.
  • Check your notes for any side information/concept.
  • Repeat the above steps for the next topic.

Note: Since most of you are also going to appear in HSSC Exam next year so it is advisable for you to go through the Part 1 books thoroughly whereas revise the Part 2 books fully like you do in your exams. This is crucial for the April test where the days between the Test and Annuals are very few.

PHYSICS:
This portion is mostly numerical based. Sometimes the questions can boggle your mind but sometimes they can be a piece of cake. So you need strong concepts along with knowledge of all the formulae to be prepared for any sort of question. A few questions are information based also so make sure you don’t miss that out.

CHEMISTRY:
Part 1: Again you’ll find numericals from this book as well as conceptual questions.  Information based questions will be very rare.
Part 2: It is ideal if you can memorize all the equations. But if you don’t want to, then you should at least know what products are formed from certain reactants along with any noticeable colour or property. In case of Organic Chemistry, you should know the mechanisms because you can get questions regarding the product formed at the end of the whole process.
The last three chapters of the book are utterly important (no matter how much we all hate them) particularly Chapter 16.

BIOLOGY:
This portion only tests your memory and cramming ability. The more you print all information in your brain, the more you score. No need of concepts as such. Just remember, the tables are EXTREMELY important. Especially the Part 1 tables in initial chapters. I can bet you there are going to be at least 3-4 questions from them (or more if you’re unlucky). Also, be aware of the important dates of discoveries in your book.

ENGLISH:
You need a good dash of common sense more than Grammar know-how for this portion. Sense works most of the times. Try to learn the SAT High Frequency Wordlist.

IQ:
This part is my personal favourite. Really quizzical on the outside but so simple when you get to the depth of it. You must have ample time left for this and you need to be sharp for this. Practise the IQ questions at home from the ISSB preparatory books. They are of the following kinds:
i. Number Sequences (in which you have to tell what number comes next in the sequence. Requires the four basic mathematical operations)
ii. Decoding (in which you decode a total nonsense group of letters into a meaningful word by following an example pattern. Requires the English Alphabets)
iii. Direction Based MCQs (in which you have to tell in which direction the particular subject is. Requires the four basic directions and their mid directions)
iv. Odd one out (the name tells you the meaning. Requires common sense)

So there you have it guys. All the information I had. I hope it proves helpful for you and may you all score great (Ameen). Best of luck!

Closing aggregates of NUST in 2013

Your admission in Nust depends not only on your marks of the test but also Fsc and matric grades. For the admission process your aggregate is calculated depending upon in which field you applied.
Below is the list of aggregates on which the merit closed last year. For most of the fields the merit will almost be the same, however, for some it will vary much.

Field
Closing Aggregate
Civil Engineering (Risalpur)67.3%
Environmental Engineering (Islamabad)64.9%
Civil Engineering (Islamabad)69.9%
Geo Informatics Engineering (Islamabad)63.9%

Navy seat for MBBS82.5%
Biosciences ( Islamabad )72%

Note: The above data is not 100% accurate. It is calculated on basis of the data provided by the students who got enrolled in Nust last year. These are not the official figures. There can be the difference of a few decimals between these figures and the official ones. But these are enough to give you the idea that how many marks you should score to get admission in Nust. Using your marks of Fsc and matric and the above percentage you can calculate marks needed in NET. In case of any issue feel free to contact us on facebook:
 https://www.facebook.com/Etest.Prep
For detailed guidelines on the preparation visit the link:
 http://entrytest-preparation.blogspot.com/2013/11/nust-entrance-test.html

On the basis of these aggregates you can calculate how much marks you need to get this much percentage.
Here is the merit calculator which will do this work for you:

Analogy

By With 6 comments:

Analogy

When you face verbal analogies, here are few things to ponder over or think.

Analogy means (in general) is a way of describing relation between two things or more by comparing with another set of objects.

e.g. Water flows through a pipe pushed by a motor and its flow can be controlled through a valve

Now consider the following statement:

Current
flow through a wire pushed by a battery and its flow can be controlled through a resistor.

Do you see something intriguing here? I just replaced some words and the sentence is still meaning full, describing a relationship between different components. So we say that in this case water flow is same is current flow, motor is analogous to battery, and valve is analogous to resistor.

Now you understand this, we will exploit this definition to do verbal analogies, our master trick will be:

“Make a sentence of given analogy which accurately expresses their relation and replace the given set of analogy by all the option one by one, the best fitting will be your answer!”

That’s it, now you know all the magic behind, now you need to practice this spell a lot to master it and win the war against the Verbal Analogy Army!!

Now one thing more, You may want to stick to past papers, but what is actually needed is practice, The more you practice and try to understand how to solve analogies, The more you will become better it. You don’t need to just do a whole paper and then match your answers in the key at the end, What you actually need to do is that do an analogy problem, see the answer at the back, if you were right pat yourself!, and if you were wrong, ask yourself, why the right answer given here is the right answer!

A Good resource to work out your skill can be found here:

Stay Blessed, and Excel! And Show the world our strength.

Should the students of Second year appear in NET-1 or not?

By With 1 comment:

About 10,000 students would be applying for NET-1, according to a rough idea. About 50% of them will be the college students who are still in FSC Part 2 and others are repeaters.

For repeaters there is no issue if they want to appear in NET-1. They can easily appear in the test. Now the question arises should students of Second year appear in NET?

Many of the students of Second year will be having their exams in the last ten days of December and all the tests of NET-1 will be held during this time span. You have to appear either in your college exam or NET-1. Now according to me students of second year should be focusing on the their Fsc right now instead of NET. Let me be straight. Each and everyone of you wont be able to get admission in NUST. We all know this. This year (2013 session) about 70,000 students appeared in NET and how many were selected? About 2500 in all the fields i.e Medical, Engineering, Arts, Business, BS Maths. Same will be the case this year. In-fact this year applicants will be more. These might be about 90,000. If you will not be selected for Nust you would be opting for other options and in other institutes the weighatge of FSc marks is more than is Nust. Consider the example of UET. In UET 70% marks of FSC are counted. If unfortunately you are unable to score well in NET instead of giving all your time to it you might loose your chance of UET as well because you shifted your attention from Fsc to NET. I would say that those of you who are willing to join UET, they must not appear in NET-1. Now consider the students of medical. Only some of you would be getting admission in MBBS, others would be opting for other fields like DPT, D pharm etc. For these fields you are not tested. You are given admission on basis of Fsc marks only. So if you loose marks in Fsc in your desire of getting admission in Nust you might loose this chance.

I hope all of you are getting my point. This is what I think. If you think that you are capable of not loosing your momentum of FSC preparation because of NET then you can appear in NET, but yeah second year students wont be able to score much in NET-1 due to lack of preparation. Some of you might get disheart at their results and decide not to appear in NET-2 and NET-3. This happened last time as well.

So what should the students of Fsc be doing in these days?
You people should learn your books properly, understand the things and prepare for your College exams. You can keep an eye on all our activity of NET so that you wont face any issue while applying for NET-2 and NET-3.

Confusions Regarding NET-1

By With No comments:

How to Apply for NET-1?

The registration process is Online. Follow these steps to get registered for NET-1:

  1.  Open the link: https://ugadmissions.nust.edu.pk/
  2. Click on New Registration for NET
  3. Fill the form and submit it.
  4. An email will be sent to you containing the login information, using that information login on the link mentioned above and fill your application form.
  5. When the form is filled Submit it, you will receive a challan form. Pay the amount in bank and after paying login back to your account and provide the payment information i.e Bank name, date of payment etc.
  6. After a few days the admit card will be added to your account, print that out and carry it on the test day. The test date and the name of test center will be mentioned on your admit card.
What are the test dates?
Since it is computerized test, all the applicants can not be accommodated on a single day in the test center , so the test is being conducted on multiple days. The date of your test will be mentioned on your admit card.

The current schedule of the tests is as follows:

Note: More dates can be added if the number of applicants increases the estimated amount.

Can we apply for more than one fields?
Yes you can apply for more than one fields. For example student of pre-engineering can apply for Test of Engineering, Arts and Business . But remember for each test you have to pay Rs.2500. For each field there will be a separate test.

Can we appear more than once in test of same field in NET-1?
No. In one session you can appear in the test of one field only once. If you want to re-appear you have to wait for NET-2 and NET-3. However for different fields you can appear i,e a student can not appear in the test of engineering more than once during the same session however he can appear in test of Pre-engineering, architecture, business etc etc depending on the eligibility criteria of each test.

When we will come to know about the result?
The result of computer based test will be available two or three days after the test. in 2013 session they got late and it took them some days to upload the result.

The option to select the test center isn't available in the form. Why?
NET-1 is the computer based test. Computer based test is held in Islamabad only.
Please note that paper based test will be held in june only in Karachi and Quetta.

Will there be any deduction of marks in net 2 or net 3 ?
There wont be any deduction in the marks. You can appear in all three tests if you wish to. This time you have three chances to make your mark. At the end the test in which you scored more will be counted for making your merit.

For any details regarding test and its preparation visit the link: http://entrytest-preparation.blogspot.com/2013/11/nust-entrance-test.html

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR MEDICAL STUDENTS: Those who are applying for MBBS do select the option of BIO-SCIENCES. There wont be any separate test for bio-sciences if you select both bio-sciences and mbbs/bds.  The merit will be made on the basis of same test.

This portion can give you really a hard time if you arent good at maths and it can also be a piece of cake for you if you have a good grip on FSc mathematics.
There will be 80 mcqs from maths in the test of engineering. Maximum time given to this portion should be 90 minutes. There are basically three types of questions:

  • Very Easy
  • Medium
  • A Bit Hard
Questions from first category would be solved in a few seconds, for example what is square of iota. Questions from second category would require about half a minute to solve, in which you have to use a formula to get the answer. While in last category you might need more than a minute to get to the correct answer. This is not because questions are lengthy, this is because the question is asked in such a manner that you need time to reach to its solution. However if you have done enough practice you can do such questions in less than a minute.

Now the question arises on which topics should we focus?
The chapter 6 of Part 1 and the chapter 6 of part 2 are very very important. These must be at your finger tips if you want to perform well in NET. You must know each and every formula from these chapters and you must have good concepts from these chapters.

After these the trigonometry should be well prepared. Learn the formulas from this section. Almost in all the questions you would have to get the answer using some formula. There can be some other sort of questions like a you can be asked about the period of some function, domain and range of some trigonometric function and so on.

Chapter 4 of Part 2 maths should be well prepared. The most important chapters from Part 2 maths are chapter 4 and chapter 6. Some of you might be thinking why not chapter 2 and 3? Well from chapter 2 and 3 there are some questions but not equal to those given from Chapter 4 and 6 , this is because most of the questions from differentiation and integration are lengthy questions. Almost equal weightage is given to the rest of the chapters. Moreover, must read out the book lines. Questions can be made from those lines as well.

The thing which you all must focus on is the learning of formulas. My maths portion went well in all exams because I learnt the formulas by heart. I will share with you how I used to learn the formulas.

Take an empty register, write all the formulas of the book. Start cramming the formulas chapter wise. When you learn the formulae of one chapter start writing them down orally, if you forget some formula skip it and write down the next. Once you are done with this open the register and go through the formulas you wrote down and revise them, pay special attention to those which you forgot. Practice this for each and every chapter till the time you can write all the formulas without forgetting even a single formula. Once you are able to do this, write down the formula of entire book and follow the same procedure. Within a month all the formulas will be on your finger tips. Whenever you find some free time start writing down the formulae. I did the same and I remember most of the formula even after 3 years. You are able to remember the formula because they are transferred to your long term memory which can be very powerful tool for the students.

Secondly practice the questions as much as you can. Decrease your leisure time and increase your work time, it will certainly work. In case of any confusion fell free to ask.

Guidelines for the Preparation of NET Chemistry

By With 17 comments:

I took the entrance test of NUST, both of them NET-1 and NET-2, Aga Khan Uni. Aptitude Test and UHS test known as MCAT; analyzed the Past papers of NUST and even the ECAT papers. After all this analysis I am able to say a single sentence that suites for all entrance tests’ chemistry section and that is

‘’Organic chemistry is the pulp of chemistry; if you have done it well, then you are ready for each and every entry test of the World.’’

Organic chemistry is the most important part of chemistry from where the examiner loves to give the maximum questions.

Now the question rises that how the organic chemistry should be prepared for NET and other tests.

In NET they are going to test your cramming as well as your understanding of equations.
The best way to prepare the chemical equations is to write them on paper several times. Here ‘’several times’’ means atleast from 5-8 times an equation should be practiced.
It sounds a bit crazy but use of ample paper can solve your problems.

Please avoid learning the equations orally because it is not going to help you in the test.

Now there is simply two ways in which the questions about organic chemistry are asked. First is very simple that the question could be about temperature, pressure or other conditions necessary for a reaction, or simply an equation turned to a fill-in-the-blank type questions.

Second type of questions about the chemisty are bit quizzical. You will be asked the method of converting one type of compound to another type. For example the method of converting alcohol to methane or methane to alcohol can be asked.Normally this type of questions are not present in the book. For  this part you have to practice the equations from the exercise of every chapter or you can find this type of questions at the end of objective type help books.

A major portion of the test is from Organic Chemistry.

Now talking of the 30% questions, there are numericals also in it. These numericals are not very difficult ones but very puzzling rather. For example the simple calculations about mole and molar mass; calculations of pH and pOH are important.

After that there are some topics which are most favorite of examiner but at the same time these are disliked by students. The topic about shell, subshells and orbitals was not very pleasing to me but the examiner chose a pretty good number of difficult questions from that.
The examiner loves to ask questions from the periodic table. Mostly the students learn general rules but forget exceptions. But these are the ‘’exceptions that rule in the test’’.

Try to make a sketch of periodic table in your mind and also of the exceptions present in the book.

Try to learn the periodic table, leaving the transition metals.

But the most important thing, whenever a question is asked about the periodic table, try to write down that particular group or period elements on  the rough work page provided to you by NUST admins.

Best of luck for the test.

Feel free to ask, your queries will be greatly appreciated.

Preparing for NET Biology

By With 6 comments:

Biology is my favorite subject. I claim to clear the biology section of any entry test without having touched the books for months. But Biology portion of Nust Entrance Test (NET) proved me wrong twice when I took both sessions of NET-1 and NET-2.

The thing that makes biology portion different from that of entrance tests of UHS and Aga Khan Uni is the style and form of the questions asked there.

In AKU and UHS tests, only the important questions were present and your knowledge was examined. But in NET ,like Mr. Spencer Churchill said about entrance test of Harrow, your ‘’ignorance’’ was explored.

Now you would definitely be trying to sort out the meaning of Ignorance here. In biology, the facts most ignored are the numeral values present in the book. For example there is a yellow box in book-1 of biology which tells us the number of genes and base pairs present in some bacteria which was studied for the first time. In the test we were asked to tell the number of base pairs. Now it’s a type of question not expected to come in test but it was there. So try to learn all the data of organisms.

Normally this data is present in the forms of tables at the end of each chapter in guides but the best way is to gather it yourself in your notebook.

For NET, you should be able to make deductive reasoning. You should not only cram the facts as present in the book but also apply them in vast capacity. For example if you know that biconcave red blood cells are present in humans, which are mammals, then they should also be present in other mammals. If such question is given in which you are asked to tell the name of animal having biconcave red blood cells, and in options there is only one mammal while other belong to different categories, then it’s very easy for you to choose. The basic concept applied here is simple that humans (mammals) have biconcave cells so all mammals will have biconcave. (Camel is exception).

Biology portion of NET is something like an IQ test. For example everyone knows that Insects are most numbered animals. If they are abundant then their every system will also be most abundant, like they have open type blood circulatory system.

The favorite part of book for every examiner is the table showing the summary of topic. The table in second book about types of blood cells and their functions is a ‘’must-to-be-crammed’’. Similarly the tables showing the types of muscle cells in the start of book-2 and at the end showing the work of different scientists in evolution are important.

Since you know that full books are included for the syllabus of NET, you should do the short-listing of books. The method is to take the Highlighters of various colors and highlight the book in different categories and cutting the unnecessary lines. Unnecessary means those paragraphs which are the explanation of a single point. But this method is only valid for entrance tests and not for F.Sc or A-level.

When you start your NET, try to solve the biology portion first because it is not very time taking. You should do these 80 MCQs in no more than 45 minutes. Try to save maximum time because this saved time will help you in physics and English portion.
That’s all FOLKS!!!
Best of luck for NET.
Suggestions and queries warmly welcomed.

Preparing for NET Physics

By With 15 comments:

The number of questions of physics is different for different tests.

  • Engineering: 60 Mcqs
  • Computer Science: 60 Mcqs
  • Medical: 30 Mcqs
  • Architechure: 30 Mcqs
  • Business Studies: Nothing from Physics
For the detailed paper pattern visit : NET Guideline

I have taken both the tests of NUST, NET-1 and NET-2, and the only section which I found most difficult in both of them was Physics. I don’t mean to scare you but it was entirely different from all other entrance tests I took.

Now I am going to tell you something that, I hope, will INSHALLAH help you to prepare physics portion.

The first and foremost thing to prepare for this test is all the dimensions of different constants present in your book. I was given to find the correct dimension of Resistance ‘’R’’ from Ohm’s Law. I found it very puzzling because I had never calculated the dimensions of R. I had solved the dimensions of all other ‘’easy one’’ constants, but as our teacher used to say, ‘’R jaise Mushkil constants NAE aate test me’’ so I neglected. But you please don’t repeat my mistake and do all the toughest dimensions.

Book-2 of physics matters more than book-1 so you should have a good grip on it. Most of test comes from book-2.

After that, you should be able to understand all the formulae of Book. Try to learn them by writing each and every formula five times. You should also be able to understand the various forms of the very same formula. For example the formula for time period of Pendulum can be asked in various forms so try to make its various forms yourself.

After that another thing I found very interesting was the use of different laws in an otherwise manner. For example in the topics of electricity all the laws have been explained for positive charge but you should also be able to understand that what happens when charge is negative. Or what happens when the current flows in opposite direction. This was pretty easy for me because I had practiced them already. But most of students don’t practice these laws for opposite situations and hence Physics portion is just doomed. All the electricity concepts matter a lot because I had observed nearly 6-7 Mcqs from it.

Try to practice all the numericals relating to electricity, it will also help you

After that, you cannot neglect the information present in tables present adjacent to the topic. Not the statistical data rather the summary of topics. The table present at the very end of book, about the particles and sub-particles was the favorite of Nust-admins. Every time a single or two Mcqs are from there and it should be well crammed. And the table showing half-life of elements is also must-to-be-learnt.

At the end you should practice maximum and most difficult Mcqs from various books and SAT can also be used by Fsc students for a thorough preparation. The numerical are not so difficult in physics but still you should prepare particularly of second book.

In case of any confusion feel free to ask. :)
