Statistics of MCAT 2015

Given below are the statistics of MCAT 2015 in comparison to statistics of MCAT 2014 and MCAT 2013. The data below shows that the merit will fall this year. Now the question is how much will it fall? According to me it will be about 0.5% lower than the previous year (It can be more too). A decrement in merit of UHS means that merit of private medical colleges (which consider MCAT in merit making) will also be lower.

1) Programs being offered at FUMC:
                                                                      FUMC is offering MBBS and BDS for the admissions 2013-14.


2) Who can apply for admission in FUMC?
                                                                                 The admissions in FUMC are open to all the candidates irrespective of the location. The admissions are offered totally on basis of merit. 

3) What is eligibility criteria?
                                          
There are two categories of admissions:

  1. Foreign Students
  2. Pakistani Students
Criteria for Foreign students:
  • Having atleast 60% in FSc or equivalent.
  • Having atleast 24% aggregate in MCAT or atleast 550 marks in each of three subjects Biology, Chemistry and Physics in SAT-II.
  • Those who did not appear in MCAT/SAT can apply on basis of the provincial entry test held by any province of Pakistan.
Note: Last date to submit your SAT-II scores is 9th November 2013.

Criteria for Pakistani Students:
  • FSc (Pre medical) or equivalent with atleast 60% marks
  • Appeared in any provincial or federal entry test.
4) When will the admissions start?
                                                                  The admissions will start from 31st October 2013. Last date to apply for the admissions is 11th November.

5) What is the Selection procedure?

                                                      

The final merit is calculated as under:

  • Matric or equivalent : 10%
  • Fsc or equivalent : 40%
  • Entry Test : 50%
6) What is the distribution of seats in FUMC?
                                                                                          There are 150 seats for MBBS and 50 seats for BDS which are divided as follows:

MBBS:

  • National seats: 83
  • Expatriates / Foreigners 22
  • Beneficiaries 45
BDS:

  • National Seats  28
  • Expatriates / Foreigners  07
  • Beneficiaries 15

8) Which documents are needed for the admissions:

Following documents are to be attached with the admission form:
  1. Attested photocopy of Federal/Provincial Govt. entry test result/roll no. slip of respective province.   
  2. Attested Photocopy of Matric /Equivalent Certificate/Marks Sheet.          
  3. Attested Photocopy of FSc/Equivalent Certificate/Marks Sheet.           
  4. Attested Photocopy of NIC or Form “B” (if NIC not issued)  .
  5. Attested Photocopy of Domicile.         
  6. Candidate applying through downloaded form will forward pay order/Bank Draft for Rs. 2100/- for Pakistani and US$ 55/- for Foreign / Expatriate category
  7. Certificate from Unit Commander in case of serving personals.
  8. Attested Photocopy of Pension Book in case of retired personals.
  9. For Expatriate/Foreign Candidates
    •  Overseas Employee ID Card of Parent/Guardian (photocopy)
    • Passport with valid visa of Parent/Guardian (Photocopy)
    • Letter from Employers abroad for Parent/Guardian.
    • SAT II / M CAT Examination result of candidate (if required).
    • TOFEL/IELTS result of candidate (if required).

10) What are number of seats for different provinces?
                                                                                                         
The number of seats for the provinces is not fixed, the national seats will be allotted completely on the basis of merit irrespective of you domicile.

11) What were the closing merits of last year?
                                                                                           FUMC does not upload the aggregates of students, it only uploads the list of selected candidates. The list of candidates selected in the last list for the year 2012 can be obtained from here:

Fatima Memorial College of Medicine and Dentistry is a private institute that is affiliated with UHS and is recognized by PMDC (Pakistan Medical and Dental Council).

Q.1: What are the programs offered in FMH?

Following programs are offered in FMH:

  • MBBS
  • BDS
  • DPT (5 years)
  • B.Sc (Hons) Medical Imaging Technology (4 years)
  • B.Sc (Hons) Medical Lab Technology (4 years)
  • B.Sc (Hons) Speech and Language Pathology (4 years)

Q.2: What is the eligibility criteria for applying in FMH?

In order to apply for MBBS, BDS or DPT the candidate must have atleast 60% marks in FSc or equivalent. For other B.Sc programs the candidates must have 50% marks in FSc or equivalent in order to apply.

Q.3: Who can apply in FMH?

All the candidates irrespective of their citizenship/domicile can apply provided they have appeared in MCAT held by University of Health Sciences Lahore or they have passed the SAT-II exam with a minimum score of 550 in each of the three subjects i.e Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
Those of the applicants whose medium of study was not English at intermediate level or equivalent are required to appear in the TOEFL or IELTS.
Candidates with BSc or higher qualification can also apply in FMH provided they have appeared in MCAT and fulfill the general rules of admissions laid down by the university.

Q.4: What is the merit criteria of FMH?

The merit criteria of FMH is as under:

  • 10% matric/O'level
  • 40% FSC/A'level
  • 37.5% Mcat
  • 12.5% FMH's test
In 2012, merit of MBBS/BDS closed on about 76%. 

Q.5: What are the number of seats for MBBS and BDS in FMH?

There are 150 seats for MBBS and 75 for BDS.

Q.6: What is the fee structure of FMH?

Q.7: Which documents are required at the time of applying for FMH?

Following is the list of documents that must be submitted with the application form:

  • 3 recent Passport size photographs
  • Attested photocopy of Matric marks sheet / O-level equivalence certificate
  • Attested photocopy of F.Sc. marks sheet / A-level equivalence certificate
  • Attested photocopy of CNIC / passport of Father
  • Attested photocopy of CNIC / passport of Applicant

Q.8: How to Apply in FMH?

Prospectus for Admission in MBBS/BDS are available from September 1, 2014 and can be purchased from FMH College of Medicine and Dentistry, Lahore.Pay Rs.4000 if you want to apply in one program (MBBS or BDS) or Rs. 8000 if you want to apply in both.

                                                        Currently CMH offers MBBS and BDS.

2) Who can apply for admission in CMH?
                                                                Admissions are open to all Pakistanis and eligible foreign students. You must have atleast 60% marks in Fsc/equivalent in order to apply in CMH.

3) When will the admissions start?
                                                    Admissions are currently Open in CMH.

4) Merit Criteria of CMH
                                           The merit criteria is shown in the picture below:

In case a candidate applies on basis of SAT-II , he must score a minimum of 550 in each of three subjects two of which are Biology and Chemistry.

5) Number of seats in CMH: 
                                                 There are 150 seats for MBBS and 50 for BDS.

6) Test Pattern of CMH
                                         There will be 100 mcqs in the test. One mark for each mcq. These will be from Biology, Chemistry, English and some related to intelligence. The exact number of questions is not known yet.

7) Negative marking in the test ?
                                                        There is no negative marking in the test.

8) Fee structure of CMH

9) From where can I get the forms?
                                                       The prospectus is available in the college admission office CMH Lahore Medical College. Prospectus carries an ARN number using which you will fill the online form available on website of CMH.
