GIKI 2014 Admissions


Q1: What are the dates for applying in GIKI undergraduate program?
Registrations for undergraduate program started on April 27th, 2014. Last date to apply is June 20th, 2014.

Q2: When the Test will be held?
The test will be held on July 6th, 2014 in all major cities of Pakistan(Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Lahore, Quetta, Karachi and Multan) and the result of the test will be available on July 12, 2014.

Q3: Which fields are being offered in GIKI?
Following fields are being offered at GIKI at undergraduate level.

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Engineering
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering Sciences 
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering 
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • Bachelor of Science in Material Engineering
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering 
  • Bachelor in Management Sciences

Q4: How to apply in GIKI?
Follow the steps given below to create get yourself registered for GIKI undergraduate program
  • Create an account (register yourself) .  http://admissions.giki.edu.pk
  • Login and submit online application form
  • Prepare a package of the following documents:
    • Application Form (printed online)
    • Two additional passport size photographs
    • Optional Scholarship Form (printed online)
    • Photocopies of Academic Documents
    • Paid Bank Challan (printed online)
    • Admit Card (printed online)
The documents must be in the same ORDER as above and unfolded.

Q6: What is the pattern of the test ?
There will be 80 questions in the test. 30 Math, 30 Physics and 20 English.

Q7: What is the syllabus for the test?
You are not supposed to prepared complete Fsc/A level books for the test. There are few topic from which the test will be prepared. These topics are provided by GIKI on their site. Download the syllabus from the link: Syllabus

Q8: What is the Eligibility Criteria?


Basic Eligibility for BS Engineering & Computer Science Programs

Candidates for admission must meet one of Following Criteria:


  • HSSC (Pre-Engineering i.e Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) with 60% or above marks each in Mathematics, Physics & Overall.
  • HSSC (Pre-Medical) with Additional Mathematics and 60% or above marks each in Mathematics, Physics & Overall.
  • A-Level in three subjects Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with D or above grade each in Mathematics & Physics and O-Level in eight subjects (English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Computer Science, Urdu, Islamic Studies & Pakistan Studies) for local applicants and in five subjects (English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Computer Science) for those applying from abroad with 60% or above overall marks as per IBCC equivalence formula.
  • American or Canadian High School Diploma or International Baccalaureate Diploma with Mathematics (with Calculus), Physics and Chemistry with 60% or above marks, as per IBCC equivalence formula, each in Mathematics, Physics & Overall.
  • B.Sc. (Mathematics & Physics) with 60% or above marks each in Mathematics, Physics & Overall.
  • Three years Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in relevant technology from a Pakistani Board of Technical Education with at least 60% marks each in Mathematics, Physics & Overall.

   Notes:

  1. Applicant with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry background can apply for all Programs including Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  2. Applicant with Computer Science/Computer Studies background instead of Chemistry at their HSSC or A- Level can only apply for Computer Engineering or Computer Science.


Basic Eligibility for BS Management Sciences Program


  • HSSC (Pre-Engg), HSSC (General Science), HSSC (ICS), HSSC (Pre-Medical), HSSC (Humanities) with at least 60% marks.
  • A-Level in three subjects with two C’s or above grades and O-Level in eight subjects for local applicants and in five subjects for those applying from abroad with overall 60% or above equivalence as per IBCC formula.
  • American or Canadian High School Diploma or International Baccalaureate Diploma with overall 60% or above marks, as per IBCC equivalence formula.
Q9: What is the Merit Criteria of GIKI?

The final merit is based on the following criteria:
Test Scores: 85%
Fsc Marks: 10%
Matric Marks: 5%

For those who are from O Level/A level their merit criteria is as under:
Test Scores: 85%
O level : 15%

Q10: What is the annual fee at GIKI ? 

The table below shows the fee for the batch 2014-2018


Q11: Is there any scholarship for the students who cannot pay the fee?
